The Golden Archer Standard: Breeding for the Pinnacle
From our Ohaupo pastures to competing against Black Caviar, Golden Archer represents the quiet dedication and proven families behind everything we do at Koru.

Every horse we breed at Koru starts with a simple plan: give them the right foundation on our Ohaupo soil and let their natural talent do the talking. There is no better example of that blueprint than Golden Archer.
He was born here, out of our Group 2-winning mare Viennetta. From the day he was foaled, he showed the kind of physical strength and quiet presence we look for in an athlete. When we took him across the Tasman to the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, master trainer Peter Moody saw exactly what we did.
On the track, he proved he belonged at the absolute top tier. He went on to win 8 races in a short, explosive career, routinely standing in the gates alongside the greatest sprinters of the modern era—including Sepoy, Buffering, and his own legendary stablemate, Black Caviar. He never backed down from a fight.
When his racing chapter closed, he took that signature grit to Raheen Stud in Queensland, where he quickly claimed the title of Leading First Season Sire.
We don't talk about past success just to look back. We talk about it because the exact same families, maternal lines, and hands-on care that produced Golden Archer are built into the syndicates we are offering today.
If you are looking to step into racehorse ownership, you want to know the people behind the horses understand what a good one looks like. Golden Archer is our benchmark.
