Honest as the Day is Long: Glorious Journey Shines at Happy Valley

Our homebred gelding handles the immense pressure and heavy weights of Hong Kong racing with the signature toughness of the La Praline family line.

Honest as the Day is Long: Glorious Journey Shines at Happy Valley

Racing under the lights in Hong Kong takes a rare kind of toughness. On Wednesday night (20.05.26) at Happy Valley, our homebred gelding Glorious Journey (Sacred Falls x La Praline) showed exactly why we breed for mental and physical durability.

Lining up in the Class 4 Dandelion Handicap over 1650 metres, he put in another incredibly brave performance to finish a close second. Giving away substantial weight to the eventual winner who charged home late, Glorious Journey dug deep to separate himself from the pack, clearing the rest of the field by a comfortable one-and-a-half lengths.

He has built a reputation in Hong Kong as an incredibly honest competitor, pushing his career earnings past the $3.3M mark—with over $1.8M amassed this season alone.

That trademark longevity shouldn't come as a surprise. His dam, La Praline, has consistently produced horses that simply love to race. With his siblings Le Chocolat, Vin Santo, and Final Impact all still actively competing on the track, it’s a maternal line that continues to reward anyone looking for structural integrity and a genuine will to win.
